Fady Mahouly
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem affirmed on the tenth day of Muharram, the anniversary of Ashura, that “the resistance continues with its existence, presence and decision,” considering it “the pillar of Lebanon’s independence and liberation.”
Qassem stressed that "Israel has no choice but to completely withdraw from every inch of Lebanese territory and stop the aggression that has failed to achieve its expansionist goals."
He added: "We broke the Israeli-American project and entered a new phase."
He said, "Iran is creating the future today for itself and for the region," noting that "we cooperated with it during the period of aggression and broke the project together," stressing: "We will remain with Iran and we want to be united."
He considered that "the memorandum of understanding is an official declaration of the defeat of America and Israel," pointing out that "Iran stood firm and made a symbol, a revolution, and great sacrifices."
Regarding internal affairs, Qassem called on the political authority to “reconsider its path and work to unite the word and unite the position in confronting the Israeli enemy and to stop implementing its dictates,” stressing that “any commitment against Lebanon’s sovereignty will not pass.”
He also said that "the ceiling of sovereignty can be achieved by adhering to the agreement of November 27, 2024, exclusively on the base south of the Litani River," calling for "charging resolve, bridging the social gap, and reconstruction."
He added: "We are ready and we are extending our hand. Seize the opportunity, as the resistance is strong," stressing that "the authority cannot antagonize more than half of the Lebanese people."
He welcomed "the Arab countries working on reconstruction, restoring sovereignty, strengthening the Lebanese army, and ousting Israel," calling for "confronting external pressures that seek sedition and serving Israel's interests."
He stressed that "Iran is the path to salvation," calling for "benefiting from the path of understanding between Iran and America as a supporter of Lebanese sovereignty."
He also said that "resistance existed because of aggression and occupation," considering that "Israel is present in Lebanon because it wants to swallow it up within the framework of the Greater Israel project."
In the same context, he stressed that "Palestine will remain the compass," directing his greetings to "the Iraqi people, government, people, authority, and mobilization," and to "the dear and sacrificing Yemeni people."
He concluded by noting that “the rightful people will prevail and we will continue to adhere to the slogan of humility,” stressing that “the Ashura scene is an icon of sacrifice, steadfastness, and revolutionary mobilization.”
